ABOUT ME
I’m Sofia Farré Flotats, scriptwriter and director, born and based in Barcelona. In 2020 I graduated in Film and Audiovisuals at ESCAC, specializing in film directing.
During the second year of my degree, I shot and directed New Face, a documentary short film about underage fashion models from Eastern Europe working in Tokyo. The documentary had the opportunity to premiere at the Documenta Madrid Festival 2019.
Three years later, I continued in the same line of work, and graduated with the short fiction film Nàdia. It is a family drama that also addresses the issue of adolescence, the fashion industry, the objectification and the social networks but this time I chose more autobiographical approach. This project premiered in the Official Section of Festival de Málaga, and was later screened in numerous festivals, such as FICUNAM, Festival Mecal, Festival de Huelva, Festival de Zaragoza, Ibiza Cine Fest... Reaching the sum up to 20 selections at the moment.
I have also worked in advertising, directing some fashion films and commercials.
I'm looking forward to continue filming and learning. To tell audiovisual stories, concepts, ideas, to play with the plasticity of images, and to continue getting fascinated by their evocative and moving capacity while feeding our common imaginary.
SOBRE MÍ
Soy Sofia Farré Flotats, guionista y directora, nacida en Barcelona. En 2020 me gradúe en Cine y medios audiovisuales en la ESCAC, especializándome en dirección de cine.
En segundo de carrera realicé New Face, un cortometraje documental sobre modelos menores de edad de Europa del Este trabajando en Tokio, que tuvo la oportunidad de estrenarse en el Festival Documenta Madrid 2019.
Tres años más tarde, siguiendo la misma línea de trabajo, me gradué con el proyecto de ficción Nàdia. Un drama familiar que también aborda el tema de la adolescencia, la moda, la cosificación y las redes sociales pero desde una aproximación más autobiográfica. Este proyecto se estrenó en la Sección Oficial del Festival de Málaga, pasando posteriormente por el FICUNAM, el Festival Mecal, el Festival de Huelva, el Festival de Zaragoza, el Ibiza Cine Fest, … Llegando a las 20 selecciones por el momento.
Asimismo, he trabajado en publicidad, dirigiendo algunos fashion films y anuncios.
Tengo muchas ganas de seguir rodando y aprendiendo. Poder explicar audiovisualmente historias, conceptos, ideas, jugar con la plasticidad de las imágenes, y seguir fascinándome por su capacidad evocativa para poder conmover alimentando a su vez nuestro imaginario común.
